Are You Devoted To God? 2
“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
Matthew 6:24 (NLT)
What you talk about often is an indication of what you love. So what do you talk about often? If I stayed with you for the next three hours, what will always be our subject of discussion? Is it the Lord and His Word? Or will it be about you, sports, movies, etc. I want you to know that whatever you discourse often is something you are devoted to.
What do you spend time talking about often on social media? That is what you are devoted to and whatever you are devoted to is what you love.
Do you know that your mental preoccupation or what you are thinking about the most is proof of what you love? Whatever you love becomes your mental preoccupation.
For instance, in Psalm 1:2 (NKJV) the Bible says, “But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.”
Why does he meditate and think on the Word day and night? It is because His delight and love is in the Word of God. Whatever you think about, you are devoted to.
If I should open your mind for the next three days, what will be your mental preoccupation? Will it be alcohol, partying, women, smoking, etc. Whatever you think about all the time you actually love.
Let the Word of God be your mental preoccupation.
Please read Ephesians 3:17 and ask God to reveal His love to you in a deep and intimate way.
