Cleansed From Unrighteousness.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9.
Our opening scripture tells us that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
What is unrighteousness? 1 John 5:17 says, “All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.” All unrighteousness is sin. Therefore when anyone sins, there is a guilt that comes, but when you confess that sin, God washes away that sin as though it never happened.
One thing by the grace of God that helped me live right is this understanding; ‘knowing that I am righteous.’ Therefore if you are a Christian, I encourage you to renew your mind to who you are; “You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.”
In Romans 10:10 the Bible says, “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” This is the righteousness of faith; you believe with your heart and you are made right with God.
If you feel guilty in your heart right now because of something wrong you have done. I encourage you to confess that sin and receive your forgiveness.
