Created In Righteousness And Holiness.
“And that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”
Ephesians 4:24 (NKJV)
Our opening scripture shows us that as a Christian you have been recreated in true righteousness and holiness.
Do you know that for the believer, sin is a choice? No believer is a victim of sin. We are only victims of our decisions. We are victims of who we expose ourselves to because as new creatures we are righteous.
The New Living Translation puts our opening scripture this way, “Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.” So the struggles you are making an excuse for, are things you can overcome if you put on your new nature.
There is no sin you are committing if you are a Christian that someone who is an unbeliever has not stopped. There are unbelievers who stopped womanizing. So if you are a Christian, you can handle it.
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV) says, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
Therefore every temptation that comes your way is a common temptation. There is no special temptation that has not been overcome. Whatever you are struggling with right now is something that God knows you can overcome. So whenever a temptation comes to you know that there is always a way of escape.
In the Name of Jesus. I declare that I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.
