“But when Herod’s birthday was celebrated, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod. Therefore he promised with an oath to give her whatever she might ask. So she, having been prompted by her mother, said, “Give me John the Baptist’s head here on a platter.” And the king was sorry; nevertheless, because of the oaths and because of those who sat with him, he commanded it to be given to her. So he sent and had John beheaded in prison. And his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother.” Matthew 14:6-11 (NKJV)
Our opening scripture helps us to see the effect of dancing. The daughter of Herodias danced before Herod, an earthly king and he was willing to give to her whatever she asked. What will God give you if you dance before Him with all your heart?
Herodias’ daughter got the head of the Prophet John the Baptist with a dance. A Prophet of God was killed because somebody danced to please a king. What will God do if you dance to please Him?
John the Baptist ministry ended because somebody danced. I wonder what can end in your life if you will learn how to dance before the Lord. Do not be too big to dance in the presence of God.
With this understanding, it is time to dance in the presence of God and watch God begin to do awesome things in your life as you do.
Read Psalm 150 aloud in praise to the Lord.

Psalm 89:15-16 (MSG)
Blessed are the people who know the passwords of praise, who shout on parade in the bright presence of GOD. Delighted, they dance all day long; they know who you are, what you do–they can’t keep it quiet!
Ecclesiastes 3:4 (NKJV)
A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance;
Jeremiah 31:4 (NKJV)
Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt, O virgin of Israel! You shall again be adorned with your tambourines, And shall go forth in the dances of those who rejoice.
Jeremiah 31:13-14 (NKJV)
“Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, And the young men and the old, together; For I will turn their mourning to joy, Will comfort them, And make them rejoice rather than sorrow. I will satiate the soul of the priests with abundance, And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the LORD.”
