A Life of Consecration:
Greetings in the Matchless Name of our Lord Jesus Christ by whom we have received the mandate to embrace, embody and exemplify the Vision, the Virtues and the Values in the life of Jesus and the Apostles in our day.
Fasting is a form of consecration. Our Word for Today is Consecration. Consecration is a powerful thing. It guarantees access into the uncommon secrets of God. What is consecration? Consecration is the conscious decision to give yourself wholeheartedly and without reserves to God for His use and for His purposes.
Consecration is the intentional act of presenting your spirit, soul and body as instruments of God’s will. It is an unreserved committal to God. It is the decisive commitment to live your life for one purpose and one purpose only: the will of God and for His glory.
A consecrated man has no hidden agenda. He or she is not driven by ambition or personal dreams. Their focus is to do the will of God the Father even at the expense of self. A consecrated man will not shrink from any sacrifice. In the kingdom of God, they are the most valuable instruments of the divine will on the earth.
They live for no other reason than for the will of God, the expansion of His kingdom and promotion of His purposes. These are God’s choicest servants like Daniel who refused to defile himself with the king’s meat and was trusted with uncommon insight into the plans and purposes of God. His consecration birthed a prophetic ministry that impacted eternity.
This is also the secret of Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego, properly called Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. These were consecrated men willing to lose their lives in obedience to God and in defiance of the king’s orders. They will always be remembered today and throughout eternity for their unreserved commitment to obey God.
What will you be remembered for? In eternity what will matter is not the house we lived in, the clothes we wore or the cars we drive. What is most important is whether you fulfilled God’s will for your life. If you compromise, you will have compromised your eternal destiny and your reward. See 1 Corinthians 7:29-31; 1 John 2:15-17; 2 John 1:8.
Your daily decisions impact your eternity. Not all men will be rewarded in heaven. Some will have no reward whatsoever. Compromise stole their destiny. How sad. Eternity without a reward or a crown. Sad! Sad! Sad! What a shame! See 1 Corinthians 3:12-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11; Revelation 3:11.
Ephesians 5:15-17. Live your life wisely. When your desire to please God becomes greater than your desire for wealth, pleasure or the things of this world, you will enter into the inner courts of the Lord. He will show you deep things unknown to men.
God shares His deep secrets with consecrated men like Ezekiel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Paul, John etc. These are men who considered pleasing God as the most important in their lives. They were willing to suffer scorn, shame and ridicule even as they followed divine instructions.
It has been said that the world is yet to see what God can do with a man who is fully consecrated to Him. May you be that man. May that man be me. God is always seeking to show Himself strong on behalf of a man or woman whose heart is perfect, loyal, fully committed and sold out to Him. See 2 Chronicles 16:9.
When you make up your mind to give yourself without reserves to God at any cost, God will trust you with hidden secrets and hidden riches. See Daniel 1:8 NASB. He will show Himself in a BIG way through your life. He will do uncommon things through your life. If you want to see God do the unusual through you and take you where no one has ever gone, then give yourself to God completely without reservation. I dare you! Selah
