Delight In The Word
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
I heard a man of God teaching and he said that he had observed that the path of grace may not seem very fast. He went further to explain using these illustrations; he said Sarah was a type of grace and Hagar was a type of works. He also illustrated saying that Racheal was grace and Leah was works. When you study the lives of these individuals, you will observe that the way of works seem faster, but at the end of the race, it is the man who chooses the path of grace that will be ahead.
I have also noticed that to be true too because when I read some motivational books, what they prescribe that I should do, is not what the Holy Spirit is prompting me to do at that time. Therefore, no matter what the book says, I always choose to do what the Lord has asked me to do instead, as opposed to what the book has said because the Lord is wiser than the motivational book.
Therefore I encourage you to exalt the timeless principles of the Word of God above all secular teachings and opinions.
Dear Father, teach me to number my days so that I might apply my heart unto wisdom, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
