Do You Have Convictions?
“Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us, Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word; It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus, That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.” Luke 1:1-4.
Our opening scripture shows us that the early church had convictions. The anchor of effective Christianity is conviction. A conviction is a strong or firm belief that you are willing to die for.
Wherever there is conviction you will find people who are willing to sacrifice anything for that cause. This is why it is said in leadership that the conviction of a leader becomes the inspiration of his followers.
My goal in the next few days in this devotional is to bring you to a place of conviction so that the next time you read the Bible, you know with all certainty that this is the Word of God to me because the Bible is God talking to you.
Please read Romans 15:13 and ask the God of Hope to fill you with all joy and peace in believing through the power of the Holy Spirit.
