Effective Prayer at Work: Pray for your nation

Dearly Beloved,
Greetings of Grace and Peace in the Matchless Name of our Lord Jesus Christ by whom we have been enlisted into the army of the kingdom of God and coopted as ambassadors and representatives of the priorities and purposes of God in every sphere of influence.
God has called us to provide a template for revival to the peoples of this world. So it behooves me to implore you to embrace the call to pray for our nation in these times. God’s will can only be done on earth when we pray. Prayer is inviting God to intervene in the affairs of men. The furtherance of God’s work in the earth depends on prayer.
There are many things in the divine plan that will not be fulfilled without prayer. God’s plan can be delayed, deterred or even denied when we don’t pray. Prayer is our means of partnering with God for the fulfillment of His plans and purposes in the earth.
Every Christian has a ministry of prayer because according to the Scriptures we are all called to pray. It is part of our sacred responsibility and privileged role in God’s redemptive plan. Through prayer we become the vehicles for the advancement of God’s kingdom in the earth. You can read the words of our Lord Jesus and the admonition of the Apostles below:
Luke 18:1 KJV
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
1 Timothy 2:1-2 KJV
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
1 Timothy 2:8 KJV
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
James 5:16b AMP
The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
Through prayer we can bind the workings of the enemy in the earth. The Bible says that whatever we bind on earth shall be bound in the heavens and whatever we loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. That’s a partnership. We can also loose God’s will in the earth by commanding and demanding things in line with the priorities, plans and purposes of the kingdom of God. See Matthew 16:19; 18:18.
1 Thessalonians 2:18 KJV
Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.
1 Corinthians 16:9 KJV
For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.
2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Jeremiah 29:7 KJV
And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.
Zechariah 10:1 KJV
Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain;
so the Lord shall make bright clouds,
and give them showers of rain,
to every one grass in the field.
2 Thessalonians 3:1-2 KJV
Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
Prayer affects outcomes when we pray correctly, that is, in line with God’s Written Word. Every prayer that lines up with God’s Word will be answered especially when it’s a prayer that favors the fulfillment of God’s will in the earth. For instance, when we pray for the advancement of the Gospel in the earth, when you pray for laborers to be sent into the harvest or peace in our country.
God commands us to pray for peace in our country. Therefore, it behooves us to yield to the Holy Spirit to guide us on how to pray effectively for our nation. If every believer, family or church will give themselves to prayer we can experience the rebirth of our nation. God wants to heal our land. Will you pray? Will I pray? Nigeria needs prayer like never before.
Proverbs 21:1 KJV
The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water:
he turneth it whithersoever he will.
Ezra 1:1 KJV
Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying.
Pray for peace during this electoral process. Pray for all that are in authority that all the decisions made in this season will favor the fulfillment of God’s will over this nation. Ask God to move upon the hearts of authority figures in this country to align with His plan for the nation.
Daniel 4:17 KJV
This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

Ask God to intervene in this election. Pray that the hearts of Nigerians will be moved to vote for the individual whom He has ordained to win in this election. Ask God the Father to move upon the hearts of people to vote under the influence of God’s Spirit. He will hear you. God is counting on you to pray. Gather friends, family, your group or your church to pray along these lines and watch God show Himself strong on your behalf. Selah
