Greetings in the Matchless Name of our Lord Jesus Christ by whom we have received the mandate to embrace, embody and exemplify the Vision, the Virtues and the Values seen in the life of Jesus Christ and the Apostles.
1 Timothy 2:1-4 NKJV
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Jeremiah 29:7 NKJV
And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.
According to the Scriptures above, we are commanded to make praying for our nation a priority. Praying for our nation is a Scriptural obligation. We are responsible for the condition of our states and nations. It was John Wesley who said, “It seems that God will do nothing except men pray.” God works through our prayers. See Zechariah 10:1; Matthew 18:18-20; 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2.
Prayer is making demands on God the Father based on His Written Word. It is a legal petition presented to God the Father based on the revelation of His intentions expressed in His Word. Prayer is inviting God to intervene in the affairs of men. It is invoking the Supernatural to change natural circumstances. True Prayer is collaborating with God to bring His will to pass in the earth. See Matthew 6:10; 1 John 5:14-15.
2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV
if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
God invites us to come and pray. See Jeremiah 29:12. He gives us conditions that if met, He will be obligated to intervene in the affairs of our cities and nations. Having said that, It behooves me to remind you that today we are fasting for our nation and we will be praying for our nation and the Body of Christ.
Ephesians 6:18 NKJV
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
Colossians 4:12 NKJV
Epaphras, who is one of you, a bondservant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
From the Scriptures above, it is also obvious that we are called to pray consistently and persistently for the saints. God is inviting us to accept our call to prayer in order to facilitate the fulfillment of His will and the advancement of His Kingdom in the earth. Prayer is the answer to today’s challenges. It is time to take your place in prayer. Your prayer will make a BIG difference in today’s world. Let’s Pray.
