Following the Voice of God

Isaiah 48:17-19 NASB
Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel,
“I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit,
Who leads you in the way you should go.
“If only you had paid attention to My commandments!
Then your well-being would have been like a river,
And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
“Your descendants would have been like the sand,
And your offspring like its grains;
Their name would never be cut off or destroyed from My presence.”

Let the inward witness and the inner premonition be final authority in all your decisions. When you start having agitations and unrest in your spirit and you sense the harassments of your conscience, please do not let your desire for success, popularity, prosperity or prominence drown the voice of the Spirit. Please do not let the desire to please men quench the light of divine guidance. Selah

People will put you under pressure to violate your conscience. You have to make an unreserved, unqualified committal to follow divine guidance. We live in a selfish world. Most of the time people want what is best for themselves even at the expense of others. This is what makes this world wicked. All wickedness has selfishness at its root. For some people if they are not happy, nobody should be happy. That’s selfishness, yes that’s wickedness.

To consistently obey the voice and the promptings of the Holy Spirit, you must have the resolve to deny yourself to please the Father. Many are not there yet because they still crave human approval and are afraid of the rejection and the criticism of men.

No one can obey or please God habitually who still has the fear of men. The Bible says, “The fear of man brings a snare, but he who trusts in the Lord will be exalted.” See Proverbs 29:25 (NASB) We obey those we fear. We obey those we respect. Obedience is a loyalty issue. To do what men want you to do at the expense of what God wants is dishonoring and disrespectful to God the Father.

When we obey God we are expressing our loyalty to God. God speaks to us through the inward witness many times and it is often ignored by many believers because of the pressure to please men and the fear of rejection. If you don’t live by the praises of men, you won’t die by their criticism. Sometimes believers disobey because of self preservation, that is, because of something they long for or desire. Whatever you compromise to get, you will eventually lose.

The real issue is our insecurities and need for human approval. The way out is simply becoming rooted and grounded in God’s love, getting to know how much God loves you. When you are rooted and grounded in love, you become fearless. See 1 John 4:16-19. God in His love for you has provided all that you will ever need. If you seek Him first, you will enjoy an unbroken flow of quality divine provision far better than man can give to you or you could earn by yourself. See Matthew 6:24-33; Jeremiah 31:3; Psalm 103:1-5.

God’s love makes us confident and courageous in the face of life’s challenges. We expect good things to come our way. Failure becomes a thing of the past because the grace of God abounds in our lives when we have faith in God’s love. God wants the best for you. See Psalm 35:27; Luke 12:32; Matthew 7:11. Obey Him every time, because whatever He says to you is the BEST THING TO DO!!! To obey God is to be safe. Obedience opens the door to a world of unlimited blessings. Shalom
