Give Thanks For What You Have
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18
In the remaining days I will be teaching you the fine art of thanksgiving. If you understand these truths you will be taught, they will change your life and launch you into a new realm of victory.
Thanksgiving is an art, in order words it requires skill and understanding.
Our opening scripture shows us that thanking God is the will of God for all of us. “In every thing give thanks: …”
That means no matter what you are going through you should give thanks. We do not give thanks because things are going on well, we give thanks because it is the will of God.
No matter what you are going through there is something you can be grateful for. I love to tell the story of the man complaining that he had no shoes, and God showed him a man who had no legs, so he became grateful for his legs.
As long as you focus on what you don’t have you will not be grateful for what you have.
The Lord taught me something, He said, “Don’t focus on what you don’t have, thank me for what you have and I will give you what you don’t have.”
Therefore, I encourage you to thank God for what you have and he will give you what you don’t have.
Consciously thank God for all you have, all you can do and all that you have been able to do and accomplish this year.
