Inner Peace

“Men, I perceive that this voyage will end with disaster and much loss, not only of the cargo and ship, but also our lives.” Acts 27:10 (NKJV)

These words spoken by the Apostle Paul in our opening scripture was a knowledge that came to him through the inward witness. So how does the inward witness function?

Firstly you could sense an inner peace or rest. It could also come as a sense of assurance. When you have such a witness in your spirit of inner peace, rest or assurance in the midst of challenges, you know it will be okay. Such an assurance can only come from the inward witness.

In the year 2004, I traveled on water for the first time going for a ministry meeting the Lord asked us to hold in Amassoma, at the Niger Delta University, this was before any road was constructed to the school. The only means of transportation at that time was by speed boats.

When I entered the boat that day, and saw how far I will have to travel on water for the first time, I received an assurance from my inward witness that the voyage will be safe.

Not long after we started the journey, a very heavy downpour began, as a result, we were all soaked and the engine of the speed boat suddenly stopped on the water. While they tried to fix the engine, the boat floated on the water but I remained calm because I had an assurance and an inner peace that the voyage would be safe. Everything was fixed and we arrived at our destination safely.

Therefore when you have that inner sense of peace and assurance; that is God telling you through the inward witness that this is the way to walk in.

Please read Colossians 1:9 and ask God to give you wisdom and insight into His perfect plan for your life so that you may be able to function accurately always.
