Practical Steps to Spiritual Advancement:
Greetings in the Matchless Name of our Lord Jesus Christ by whom we have received the grace and apostleship for the obedience of faith amongst all nations.
It gives me great joy to write this letter unto you to show you how to make unstoppable progress in your spiritual journey. God desires your growth and your progress. If you follow the practical principles outlined below you will experience remarkable progress in your spiritual walk with God.
Firstly, based on the assumption that you are already saved and put your trust is in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, I would advise that you give time consistently to the reading of the Scriptures especially the New Testament. See John 8:30-32; James 1:21-25; Psalm 119:7,9,11; Ephesians 5:26
Secondly, you need to feed your spirit on rich spiritual proteins by listening to positive faith building messages everyday. Feed your faith everyday. See Romans 10:17; Hebrews 3:12-14; 6:11-12.
Thirdly, you need to receive the Holy Spirit. Some call it the baptism with the Holy Spirit. Others call it being filled with the Holy Spirit. Then give time regularly to speaking in other tongues. Edify yourself consistently by praying in tongues. Get acquainted with the Holy Spirit. See Romans 12:12; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Colossians 4:2
Fourthly, you need to meditate on the Word daily at least fifteen minutes everyday. Meditation will help you renew your mind and refine your thinking. See Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:2-3; Psalm 119:97-100
Fifthly, learn to habitually forgive those who offend you. Be a lover and you will experience an increased influence of the Holy Spirit in your life. Bitterness will hinder the flow of God’s power through your life. See 1 Peter 3:9; 4:7-8; Matthew 5:43-48; Romans 13:8-11; 1 John 3:14-16; 2:9-11
Sixthly, Make praise a habit. Refuse to be a complainer and a complainant. Learn to give thanks consistently. Praise and thanksgiving will facilitate your spiritual advancement. See Psalm 67:5-7; Romans 1:21; 1 Thessalonians 5:18; John 4:22-24; Numbers 21:4-9
Seventh, Be a doer of the Word of God. Whatever you learn from the Word be quick to act on it. Being a prompt doer of the Word of God aids your spiritual development. See James 1:22; John 14:21-23; John 13:17
Eight, Practice habitual obedience to the voice and promptings of the Holy Spirit. The more you obey divine leadings, the more easier it would be to obey the next time that God speaks. See Isaiah 1:19; Job 36:11
Lastly, be generous. Make a practice of the love of God by being a generous giver to the needy, the Body of Christ and the cause of the kingdom. See Acts 20:35; Galatians 6:6-10; 2 Corinthians 8:1-9.
If you do these things, you will find yourself making genuine spiritual advancement to the glory of God. Have a fruitful and fulfilling week.
