Repent From Backsliding 1
“The backslider in heart will be filled with his own ways …” Proverbs 14:14 (NKJV)
Do you know that you can be a backslider and not know that you are backsliding? You know you are backsliding when you are no longer spending as much time you spend with God anymore.
You know you are backsliding when you find that the passion you use to have for God and the things of God is no longer there. If you no longer have the compassion you use to have for people anymore, it means you are backsliding.
Many times when people think of who a backslider is, what comes to their minds are those who are outrightly committing sins, no, that is the extreme of backsliding. That is not where backsliding begins.
Backsliding begins when your heart is drifting away from God. When the things that use to move you in the presence of God no longer moves you, it means you have backslidden. Have you backslidden?
If you access yourself and your walk with God with the things we have highlighted above and it seems you are backsliding, I encourage you to do what Revelation 2:5 (NKJV) says, “Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place — unless you repent.”
Please read Revelation 2:1-4 and ask God to restore to you your first love.

“To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, ‘These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: “I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;
