Repent From Backsliding 2.

“Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first…”
Revelation 2:5 (NLT)

If you are going to repent from your backsliding and go back to your first love then you need to reflect and ask yourself what you were like before you were backslidden.

Then, everything about Jesus excited you. When people come around you, they felt the presence of God because you use to spend time praying and weeping in His presence. When people heard your voice they had a stirring to go after God. Are you still that way?

Those days when you were in the bathroom you would sing and even start crying because your heart was panting after God and the presence of God will hit you right in the bathroom. Do you still have such experiences?

In those days there were things you couldn’t see and movies you couldn’t watch. Do you still hold such values? Those were times you couldn’t tolerate gossip. Now do you tolerate and encourage gossip?

Can you remember those days you looked for solitary places to go and pray and pour out your heart before God? Are you still moved that way with compassion?

I encourage you to examine yourself child of God and go back to your first love.

Please read Philippians 1:9 and ask the Lord to increase your love for His Word like never before.
