September Letter: Unity
Greetings of Love, Mercy and Peace in the Matchless Name of our Lord Jesus Christ by whom we have received the mandate to embrace, embody and exemplify the Vision, the Virtues and the Values seen in the life of Jesus and the Apostles.
We give thanks to God the Father for another opportunity to serve the Body of Christ by providing Biblical counsel about the need to make the effort to foster and sustain harmony and unity in our homes, churches, cities and nations.
Ephesians 4:3 NIV
Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Unity is intentional. Unity does not just happen. It requires consistent effort and dedication for its sustenance. The first key to unity is a clear and common vision. Unity is impossible without a common vision. A vision is a promise of hope that embodies the collective aspirations of everyone involved.
Proverbs 29:18 KJV
Where there is no vision, the people perish:
but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Proverbs 29:18 NKJV
Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint;
But happy is he who keeps the law.
A Vision brings people together and keeps them together. Every family needs one. Every church needs one. Every organization, city, state or nation needs one. Without a common vision division is inevitable. Selah
A vision is a uniting force and a motivating factor for cooperative action. The vision has to be communicated clearly and consistently. The more it is communicated, the more it is believed, the more people will see its possibility and pursue its fulfillment.
God has a vision for every individual, every family, church, city, state or nation. A vision is a revelation of God’s redemptive plan and your role in it. It is a revelation of God’s plan and purpose for a person, family, church, state or nation. It is an unveiling of their corporate destiny.
A vision inspires hope, emboldens the people and gives them a positive outlook on life and the future. A vision gives each one a reason to live and a reason to work together. A common vision is a common cause that inspires collective participation. See Genesis 11:1-6.
It strengthens the resolve to encourage the fight for corporate existence. Vision makes people want to stay together. We have to diligently inquire from the Lord to get His vision for our lives, family, church and organization.
A vision is a picture of the future that gives each person an inner drive to do whatever it takes to see that the entity or organization succeeds and continues to exist. Think about that.
Vision is what drives, defines and determines the course of action in every successful organization. Without it the organization will be ineffective, activities will be meaningless and boring and the organization will eventually cease to exist.
It gives them a sense of purpose and destiny. It makes them excited and enthusiastic about life and their unity. The discovery, design and the development of vision is a necessity. Please ensure that from hence forth your family, church or organization lives according to God’s plan and purpose. Find out God’s plan and follow it. Selah
