THE PATH TO NATIONAL REVIVAL, RESTORATION AND TRANSFORMATION.
2 Chronicles 7:12-14
Then the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: “I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Greetings in the Matchless Name of our Lord Jesus Christ by whom we have received the mandate to enlighten the peoples of this world by educating, equipping and empowering believers with the Biblical truths, teachings and practical tools that will help be, do or have what they were ordained to be, do or have.
We are in perilous times which calls for strategic spiritual acts of obedience to Scriptures and divine instructions. As the dark clouds of the enemy seeks to dominate and destroy the world as we know it. It is important that we know what to do to hold back the tide of the devil.
God has delegated authority to man in the earth. The Bible says, “The heavens even the heavens are the Lord’s but the earth has He given to the children of men.” God gave man authority in the earth. We have the legal capacity to bind or loose on earth. Whatever we declare unlawful and improper on earth will be declared unlawful and improper on earth by Heaven.
What we see happening on earth is similar to what is written in 2 Chronicles 7:13. “ When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people,” 2020 was called the year of the locust. There were famine in many places. There was a plague and a pestilence released upon the earth. But God did not leave us without a solution.
In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God proffers the solution saying, “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
The solution to the trouble of these times is simple:
1. “If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves.”
How do we humble ourselves? We humble ourselves by fasting. See Ezra 8:21-23; Psalm 35:13; 69:10 ESV. Fasting is the intentional abstinence from food for spiritual purposes. Fasting is renouncing the natural to invoke the supernatural.
As we fast and pray we can hold back the forces of darkness. God is calling us to humble ourselves in fasting and prayer.
If we start actively making time to fast consistently and periodically for our leaders, nations and the Body of Christ we will see a mighty revival and change the course of history. See 1 Timothy 2:1-3; Ephesians 6:18-19; Colossians 4:2-4.
2. “And pray.”
Prayer is inviting God to intervene in the affairs of men by making a demand on Him based on His Word. Prayer is a verbal request based on God’s promises. See Genesis 32:9-12; Exodus 32:9-14; 1 John 5:14-15; Genesis 18:17-33.
Accurate prayer must be in line with the Word of God. We must believe that we receive the answer when we pray because God is ready to answer to your prayer. See Psalm 65:2; 2 Kings 19:20; Isaiah 65:24; Matthew 7:7-11; Jeremiah 33:3. Pray without ceasing. God will do nothing until men pray.
3. “And seek My face”
We have to develop deep personal and intimate relationship and fellowship with God the Father. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. See Matthew 6:33; Jeremiah 10:21; Psalm 34:8-10. We need to give time to the Word like never before.
We have to intentionally invest in our own spiritual development passionately. Make your time with God a priority and you will see the Mighty Hand of God on your behalf. Your personal devotional time has to become a serious unbroken discipline. If we all do this, We will begin to see changes in our nations.
4. “And turn from their wicked ways”
Repentance precedes restoration. See Acts 3:19-21. Without genuine repentance by members of the Body of Christ there will be no change in society. We cannot live in rebellion to God and His Word and expect Him to bless our disobedience.
The Body of Christ has to consciously repent of any area of rebellion in their lives and align with the Word of God, the mind of God and the heart of God. So long as we are out of alignment with God the challenges of this world will keep overwhelming the Body of Christ. See 1 Peter 5-6; James 4:1-7; 1 John 3:21-24.
If you will humble yourself and start intentionally doing what the Word of God says to do we will begin to see divine increase and additions. God wants us more blessed than what we are now. All He requires from us is for to align with Him.
5. “Then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
God will hear and respond to our prayers and demands for our nations when we do all four above. We have to let go of bitterness and the competition amongst us. There has to be love and unity amongst us. If we forgive from our hearts, we will also be forgiven. See Matthew 6:14-15; Mark 11:25; Luke 6:37; Matthew 5:7; Ephesians 4:32; Colossians 3:13.
We have to start making amends in our relationships. You have to apologize to those to who you have offended. As we start aligning properly with God and His Word we begin to see acts of God that turns things in our favor. See 2 Chronicles 16:9; James 4:8; 2 Timothy 2:24-26; 2 Corinthians 10:3-6. Selah
