The Triumph of Faith
1 John 5:4-5 KJVFor whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
Faith is a very powerful force. It makes men masters in all realms of life. To walk in faith is to walk in victory. According to the Scriptures, “Faith is the victory that overcomes the world.” Every child of God is born to win in this life but the instrument that enforces our victory is our faith in God and His Word.
The disciples of Jesus could not cast out a devil because of their unbelief. Christ already gave them the authority and the capacity to cast out devils but their unbelief immobilized the power and the authority of God in them. See Matthew 10:1; Luke 9:1; Matthew 17:14-20.
Faith is the force that gives action to the power of God in us and on us. Faith is the trigger that activates the power of God. The power of God is always available because God is Omnipresent but it is not always active or manifest. It is faith that activates the power. See Matthew 9:27-29; Mark 5:25-34.
The power of God is like dynamite while faith is the match or the fire that triggers the dynamite. That is why Jesus said, “Have faith in God. For whosoever shall say unto this mountain be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith.” See Mark 11:22-23
Faith filled words can dominate, change, alter or transform anything in the realm of human endeavor. Nothing can withstand the force of faith. See Matthew 21:21-22. Faith is master key to a world of supernatural exploits. The man or woman of faith is unstoppable, unbeatable and indefatigable. Faith is the victory that conquers, prevails, dominate and masters the world, its evils and all the challenges it brings.
Hebrews 11:32-34 KJVAnd what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
What then is faith? Faith is the visible expression of confidence in God and His Word. See James 1:18,20,26. Faith is an offspring of the Word of God. See Romans 10:17. Faith is taking God at His Word. It is taking the Word of God at face value. See Matthew 8:5-8; Luke 1:38.
Faith is confident rest in the faithfulness of God. It is the practical expression of a confidence rooted in the integrity and the faithfulness of God. When you know that God says what He means and means what He says, you take Him at His Word because you know He cannot deny Himself and He is committed to whatever He says. Hallelujah! See Hebrews 11:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:24 MSG; 2 Timothy 2:13; Romans 3:3-4; Numbers 23:19.
When God speaks, faith considers it done because the Word believed becomes self fulfilling. When we believe the Word of God, the Word becomes self fulfilling because God is committed to the performance of the Word you really believe. It is what you believe that God will make happen for you. Think about it. See Matthew 8:13 NLT, MSG.
Luke 1:45 KJVAnd blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
As you read, study or listen to the Word of God habitually, take the Word at face value. Believe it. Confess it and act on it. God will not deny Himself. He will not disappoint you. He is a God that keeps promises. He watches over His Word to perform it. Only believe! Selah
