The Different Kinds of Miracles

Definition of Terms:

A Miracle is an act of God. See See Exodus 8:16-19; John 3:2; Matthew 12:22-29; Acts 2:22; Acts 19:11
A Miracle is a supernatural intervention of God in the affairs of men that transcends human explanation. See John 2:1-11
A Miracle is a supernatural intervention of God in the affairs of men that transcends natural laws. See 2 Kings 3:14-20; 6:1-7
A Miracle is a supernatural display of God’s Power for the purpose of meeting a need or changing a situation.
There are different kinds of Miracles
  1. Miracles of Power: These are works of Power that are inexplainable like miracles of healing or the raising of the dead. See Matthew 9:1-8; Mark 5:25-34; Hebrews 11:11
  2. Miracles of Provision: To provide is to supply what is needed or required. To provide is to furnish with supplies or make something available. See 2 Kings 4:1-7; 1 Kings 17:8-16; John 6:5-11
  3. Miracles of Protection: To protect is to defend or shield. God defended the children many times in times of battle. See
  4. Miracles of Preservation: Preservation is the activity or process of keeping something that is valued, intact or free from damage or danger. See Daniel 3:19-30; 6:10-23; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24;
  5. Miracles of Promotion: Promotion is the act or fact of being raised in rank or position. See Genesis 41:39-44; Esther 6:1-14; Psalm 75:6-7; 1 Samuel 2:7-8
  6. Miracles of Prudence: Prudence is sagacity or shrewdness in the management of affairs. Skill and judgment in the use of resources. See Genesis 41:25-36; Daniel 1:17-20
  7. Miracles of Providence: Providence simply means Divine Guidance or Care. Divine Guidance is supernatural. It is revelation and insight beyond sense and reasoning. See Genesis 41:38-39; Daniel 2:1-30; 5:11-16;
  8. Miracles of Prosperity: To prosper is to succeed, break out, breakthrough or gain the victory. See Genesis 39:2-5; 39:20-23; Genesis 26:12-14
