Turn Away From Sin

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.”
1 John 2:1a.

Another roadblock to progress is sin. Let no one deceive you, sin is sin no matter who is sinning it. When David the man after God’s heart sinned, he had to bear the consequences; for a while, he had to vacate the throne. There are many today who are vacating their designated place in destiny because of sin.

Our opening scripture shows us that God does not expect you to sin as a Christian. A life of sin is not convenient for a Christian.

1 Thessalonians 4:1-8 (NKJV) says, “Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified.
For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.”

Dear Father, I ask that You cause my love to abound more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; that I may approve things that are excellent; that I may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
