Understanding The Times and The Seasons
Greetings in the Matchless Name of our Lord Jesus Christ by whom we have received the mandate to enlighten the peoples of this world by the effective use of media platforms for the promotion and the propagation of the Gospel.
I sincerely believe that we are in very sensitive times as individuals and corporate groups within the Body of Christ. God is a God of times and seasons. Let’s look at the Book of Daniel Chapter two and see what the Word of God says,
Daniel 2:20-22Daniel answered and said,Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever:for wisdom and might are his:And he changeth the times and the seasons:he removeth kings, and setteth up kings:he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:He revealeth the deep and secret things:he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
We could check up on Paul’s words in 1 Thessalonians 5:1. He spoke of times and seasons. Even Jesus Christ our Lord told the children of Israel that they did not know the time of their visitation. See Luke 19:41-44.
In the scheme of divine things, there are different times and seasons. Each time and season has different significance in God’s prophetic agenda and each one requires certain specific responses or actions that when expressed creates the expected outcomes for us as ordained by God.
The Apostle Peter in Acts 3:19 speaks of times of refreshing that come from the Presence of the Lord. Many are unaware of this and they miss seasons of divine acceleration. For instance, Saul the King of Israel missed a season that would have established his reign over Israel forever. See 1 Samuel 13:13-14. Think about that.
If Saul had waited for Samuel to come and offer the sacrifice for him, his kingdom would have been transgenerational. He never knew he was in a strategic season and made a decision that affected his generations. Decisions made in prophetic seasons impact our generations. That was happened to Saul’s generation and Gehazi’s. Gehazi did not know that there’s a time to receive gifts.
2 Kings 5:26-27And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants? The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.
However, there are those who maximized their seasons. The Bible speaks of the sons of Issachar who had the understanding of the times and knew what Israel ought to do. See 1 Chronicles 12:32. In certain prophetic seasons, there are specific things that are expected of us. Mordecai reminded Esther that she had come to the kingdom for such a time as this. She fasted and impacted the course of history. See Esther 4:14.
You are in a strategic season right now; a time of divine positioning. I sense a call to fast and pray in this season. You may be feeling the nudge to fast. Heed that nudge. It’s a time for new wine. God is calling us to separate ourselves unto him to hear from him to receive instructions and strategies for accelerated increase. Take advantage of these times to separate yourself unto God.
Those who will heed the fast will notice a restoration of spiritual fervor. Their spiritual drive will become strong again. Your inward man will be strengthened. There will be greater clarity concerning what God expects from you in the next season. You will be bolder to attempt what God the Father has put in your heart.
Make time for God in this season and He will give you strategies that will put you ahead. He will show you how to come out of your current challenges. Even certain delayed prophetic promises will come to pass after the time of fasting. Whatever He tells you to do, just do it and He will do what He promised.
It is my prayer that as you heed His Instructions in your heart that He would activate graces, giftings and abilities that were dormant. He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the Churches.
