Vision Is About Service.

“So David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel, and that He had exalted His kingdom for the sake of His people Israel.”
2 Samuel 5:12 (NKJV)

Yesterday we learnt that when God calls you, He calls you to serve. When God gives you a vision it will always be about service. It will be about serving others, improving others and making them better.

Our opening scripture shows that when God Blesses you, He Blesses you for the sake of His kingdom. When He lifts you, it is for the sake of His kingdom. Let that be your focus. Initially when you follow the vision you may wonder what is in it for you, but when God starts responding, you will be like God is this not too much?

In Psalm 78:71-72 (NKJV) the Bible says concerning David, “From following the ewes that had young He brought him, To shepherd Jacob His people, And Israel His inheritance. So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.” This reveals that God raised David for the sake of His people.

John 10:10 reveals to us why Jesus came, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” His coming was focused on serving others.

Paul saw a vision in Acts 16:9-10, “And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.”

Notice that the vision was to help those in Macedonia. Every God-given vision is always focused on helping others.

Please read 1 Thessalonians 3:12 and ask God to cause you to increase and abound in love towards other believers and towards all men.
