Wednesday Letter from Apostle
We have been called into a deep and intimate relationship and fellowship with God the Father and with the Word through the Power of the Holy Spirit. One way we cultivate a deeper and richer fellowship is through prayer, especially, when we spend quality time with Him asking for nothing.
Times of fasting are seasons when we need to focus our hearts and minds on God to press into a greater intimacy with the Father through the agency of the Spirit. When we speak in other tongues in private devotions we are voicing the deepest desires of our inner man in spiritual vocabulary. We are communicating in coded spiritual lingo the agenda of heaven hidden from humans and devils.
1 Corinthians 14:2 NKJV
For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
1 Corinthians 14:14-16 NKJV
For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who occupies the place of the uninformed say “Amen” at your giving of thanks, since he does not understand what you say?
Speaking in tongues as a tool of spiritual edification cannot be overestimated. It will help to strengthen your spirit as you fast and pray. The words may be beyond your mental comprehension but God understands every word. This is because it’s the work of the Holy Spirit through your spirit communicating the deepest longings that cannot be uttered in articulate speech.
Romans 8:26-27 NKJV
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
1 Corinthians 14:2 AMP
For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding].
Jude 1:20 AMP
But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit;
Speaking in tongues as we see in Jude 1:20 (AMP) facilitates spiritual growth. It speeds up your capacity for spiritual apprehension. It helps you build a strong spirit. It helps to fine tune your ability to perceive spiritual reality. If you have received the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking with other tongues, please make time to get alone with God and just fellowship with Him in prayer speaking in tongues until you have a note of victory.
As you make this a habitual practice; learning to wake up early to get alone with God the Father and communicating with spiritual vocabulary, you will become bolder, your thoughts will become clearer, you will start hearing clearly from God. You will be able to perceive deception quickly. You will enter the realm of miraculous: The Power of God will start flowing through you like never before. If you want to enter into the deepest adventures with God’s Power and His unlimited Possibilities, then it’s time to start making out quality time to speak in tongues to God in prayer. Selah
