What Are You Thinking? 1
“For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit.”
Romans 8:5 (AMP)
Whatever you are passionate about is what you are focused on. Passion is a function of focus. Whatever you desire is what you are thinking about. You cannot desire what you don’t think. You cannot be tempted by what you don’t desire. So if I change my thinking, I will regulate my desire, then temptation becomes weaker.
Whatever you desire is what satan will tempt you with. Your desire is a function of your thinking.
Our opening scripture says, “For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh …”
I want you to know today that what you make an excuse for as your weakness is actually revealing your focus. Your weakness is a revelation of those unholy desires you set your mind on. So if you change your focus and your thinking, whatever was your weakness begins to die.
Please read Ephesians 3:16 and ask God to strengthen you with might by His Spirit in your inner man to do what you ought to do and the strength of character to refuse to do what you shouldn’t do.
