What Is Faith? 4

“NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].” Hebrews 11:1 (AMP)

Faith is present tense confidence in God and His Word. So faith is always NOW. Our opening scripture says, “NOW FAITH is …” This means that if it is not now, it is not faith. When you say you have faith, you are believing now that things are getting better. You are believing now that you have what God says you have. You are believing now that you are who God says you are and you can do what God says you can do. That’s faith.

Faith is the visible expression of confidence in God and His Word. That means faith is practical, it is not theoretical. In James 2:18 (AMP) the Bible says, “But someone will say [to you then], You [say you] have faith, and I have [good] works. Now you show me your [alleged] faith apart from any [good] works [if you can], and I by [good] works [of obedience] will show you my faith.” Therefore our faith is made visible by our works. Hence, if you are not acting consistently with the Word of God then you don’t have faith. You are acting in faith when your actions correspond with the Word of God.

Only saying that you believe the Word of God without action produces no effect in your life or circumstances because the Bible says in James 2:19 that the demons also believe and tremble. You are in faith when you act in line with your beliefs. The Bible says, “… faith apart from [good] works is inactive and ineffective and worthless?” James 2:20 (AMP). Faith is activated by actions so until you act based on the Word of God you do not have faith.

In the Name of Jesus, today I cancel every negative word spoken over my life and my destiny. I cancel every negative word I have spoken over my life and all my affairs, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
