Why God Guides 7
“For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name’s sake, Lead me and guide me. Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me, For You are my strength.”
Psalm 31:3-4 (NKJV)
A sixth reason why God guides us is to protect us.
There are traps that may have been secretly set on your path as a Christian that you may not know of, but following divine guidance will cause you to be delivered from them all.
A minister of the gospel told a story of how God woke him early one morning to go and tell one of his members not to travel that day.
When he told the man, he replied that whenever he makes up his mind to do something, he must do it.
The man of God still insisted that he should not travel, but the member refused to listen and he travelled. As a result, he died on that trip.
One day a minister of God was fasting and God instructed him to call the Pastor of their branch church in Liberia and ordered him to leave Liberia immediately with the next flight.
He called the Pastor and instructed him accordingly. The Pastor being obedient to his Bishop took the next flight and came to Nigeria.
That same day after he had left, some rebels went to his house to look for him to kill him but could not find him. Thank God he obeyed divine guidance and his life was spared.
I encourage you to follow divine guidance because God guides you to protect you.
Dear Father, I ask that You grant me grace to minimize my mistakes and to act quickly whenever I am instructed by Your Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
