Your Conscience 2
“This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.” Acts 24:16 (NKJV)
Today we are going to continue learning about the faculty of conscience which we began yesterday. As a Christian, it is important for you to learn to follow the witness of your conscience especially when it concerns making decisions on what is right or wrong.
One day, a teenager came to me and asked me a question, she asked, “Sir, is masturbation wrong?” I answered, “Yes it is.” And she replied, “It is true.” This meant that she knew in her conscience that it was wrong.
There are other things that you can pick from your conscience that they are wrong without anybody telling you anything. By following the prompting from within, you will be able to keep your conscience void of offence toward God and toward men.
If you want to keep your conscience tender then you must train yourself to always tell the truth, this is because whenever you lie, you violate your conscience.
I will like you to see what Paul said about himself in Acts 23:1 (NKJV), “Then Paul, looking earnestly at the council, said, “Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.” This shows us that every one of us can keep our conscience void of offence before God.
Dear Father, I ask that You cause my love to abound more and more in knowledge and in all judgment, that I may approve things that are excellent and remain sincere and without offence till the day of Christ, in Jesus’ Name.
