Your Conscience 4
“Having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck,” 1 Timothy 1:19 (NKJV)
Today, based on our opening scripture, I want you to know that having a good conscience will improve the effectiveness of your faith.
For instance, you will not be able to avoid danger when you constantly disobey your inner checks especially when you know something is wrong. If you continue that way, you will suffer a shipwreck eventually.
At different times I’ve entered vehicles in the past from motor-parks that I had to come down from because I had an inner prompting not to travel in that vehicle anymore. Most times after alighting and boarding another vehicle, I find the other vehicle and the passengers stranded on the road either due to an accident or a mechanical fault. I was exempted from all that stress because I trained my conscience to follow divine guidance.
How do you begin to train your conscience to follow divine guidance? Begin by responding to the prompting from your conscience in little things.
Maybe you are about to eat and you feel a nudge not to from within, don’t eat. As you obey and wait till that nudge is lifted, you are training your conscience to be a sure guide to you in the future concerning bigger matters.
Dear Father, teach me to number my days, that I may apply my heart unto wisdom, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Doing the Word
Don’t persist in going the way you want to go when you have been checked in your conscience to stop going in that direction.
