Home Zoe

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63

One of my commissions as a minister is to ‘preach the full message of this new life’. This is based on what Jesus said in Acts 5:20 (NIV), “Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people the full message of this new life.”

There are several words that open the Bible to you, and one of them is life. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of life, so when He reveals to you the message of life, there is a fearlessness it gives you.

What is life? There are several words for life in the Bible. The first one is the Greek word, ‘zoe’. I am putting zoe first before the other kinds of life because it is the God-kind of life.

In John 5:26 Jesus said, “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;” Life here refers to ‘zoe’ that is the life in God that makes Him God. It is called the God-life.

The Bible says in John 1:4, “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.” What was the life in Him? Zoe; the God-life.

Therefore if you are born again, you have been lit up with zoe. This means the very life of God that makes Him who He is, is inside of you. Live your life conscious of this reality.

In the Name of Jesus, I declare that eternal life has permeated my being. The life of God is in my head. The life of God is in my skin. The life of God is in my blood. The life of God is in my organs. The life of God rejuvenates every fibre of my being, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
