The Breakthrough Power of Praise

What is a Breakthrough?

In our context, a breakthrough will mean the following:

A sudden burst through a barrier or a wall of limitation

To break out from a limitation or hindrance

To break out of an embankment

To force your way through a barrier

Sometimes in life you find yourself doing the best you can without any result. You find yourself working very hard with insignificant results. This is because of a siege set up against you by the forces of darkness. Every time God gives you a word or promotes you there will be a demonic confrontation or push back. This is why progress is difficult for many believers.

1 Corinthians 16:9 NKJV

For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.

God opens a door for His children and many are finding it difficult to enter into the prophetic promises given to them by the Father. This is because satan hates to see you make meaningful progress. This where Praise comes in. Praise is a spiritual weapon for pushing back the forces of darkness.

Singing and dancing are spiritual protocols. In the realm of the spirit, singing and dancing activates spirits. For instance, the Bible says, “Come into His Presence with singing.” Singing activates the Presence of God. Even those in the occult or involved in idol worship know that there are songs that they need to sing to activate the presence and the power of certain spirits. Singing is spiritual protocol.

In the natural when a king is coming out there are words and songs that they sing to usher in the king. Yahweh is the King of kings. We have to intentionally usher Him in with songs of praise and celebration. God deserves the highest praise. We have to praise and sing to Him more than anyone has ever been praised or worshipped.

It is in praising that God shows up to demonstrate His greatness and His Power. This reminds of when the Children of Israel were under siege in the days of Jehoshaphat. They had a prophetic word that God was going to fight for them but He didn’t tell them how He was going to do it. So they decided to engage in Praise and while they were praising, God showed up to discomfit their enemies. None escaped. See 2 Chronicles 20:1-30.

2 Chronicles 20:21-24 NKJV

And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying:

“Praise the LORD,

For His mercy endures forever.”

Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another.

So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped.

Are you under siege? Are things difficult for you? Are you faced with invisible barriers? Are you in prison like Paul and Silas? All you need is to engage in continuous praise like Paul the Apostle and his compatriots did.

Acts 16:25-26 NKJV

But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.

As you begin to sing and to praise the Lord in song and in dance, He will break in to break you out of your situation. He will knock down every adversary, push down every limitation and kick down every wall. Praise will enlarge your capacity for success and expand your territorial influence.

You can change any situation by praise. It is time to get up and praise God. Raise your voice. Lift a song and dance unto the Lord and things will begin to shift in your favor in the realm of the spirit.

Schedule time to do this regularly until every wall falls down and all limitations are broken off your life. Praise until the prison doors are open and the chains and shackles holding you down are broken off. Hallelujah! It is up to you. God will turn things around if you will praise. Let’s do this.
